I took a 60 vw bug that was sitting for 25 years, rebuilt a motor for it, and took it to the track. Didnt even wash it! to Prove whats on the outside isnt what counts. Its what we DONT see that does. Motor is all VW with stock block clearenced for stroker crank, stock crank is welded stroker, has 92mm pistons to equal 2180, vw heads ported, and dual IDF webber carbs. mild 125 engle cam. I know its not a super fast car like most other videos on here, but for what it is, a stock bug with skinny 165 metric tires, and a stock vw motor with very old hot rod technology, it does pretty good. The way it is I a ran a 13.41@100mph on the stock tires.

Volkswagen will run two new ads during the Super Bowl Sunday broadcast on American television. Volkswagen of America will pay dearly to air two 30-second spots - one for the all-new North American Passat model and one for the 2012 Beetle - which will run during the second and fourth quarters of the game. The Passat commercial features a Star Wars theme and was produced with the help of Lucasfilm Ltd., George Lucas' production company. The visuals are accompanied by the well-known "Imperial March" music by film composer John Williams. The ad shows a child dressed as Darth Vader summoning the "Force" upon discovering a Passat in the driveway. The other spot for the all-new 2012 VW Beetle features a CGI-generated black beetle who reigns supreme in the forest. The soundtrack includes a new rendition of the famed rock song "Black Betty" by Jon Spencer and the Blues Explosion. The ads are the work of Volkswagen of America's agency Deutsch LA Inc. The Super Bowl takes place on Sunday February 6th.

He tells I am the guy tha DDB chose to be the spokesman for that famous "Floating VW" TV commercial in June , 1972. My name is Lew Wood, and I was doing commercials and V/O's in NYC when I was booked for the job. We shot it at a launching ramp in Stamford, CT on LI Sound. The production crew was Horn-Greiner. Director Norm Greiner. DDB's creative director was Tom Yobaggy. And even Mr. Bernbach was on the location! They hired a stuntman to drive the VW into the water. However, Norm Greiner suddenly woke up to the fact that I had to deliver that last line "Now, what other car gives you this kind of quality at this kind of price?" from the car! I said, "Norm, I'm a sailor, I'm at home on the water. I'll drive it in!" I splashed it three times. (We used three identical Beetles, all burnt orange in color. Splashed two of them alternately, the third never got wet and was used for "beauty shots." Swimmers went in to tow them back to shore after each take. We all thought our commercial would win the "Clio" that year, but the "Snowplow" commercial took the prize. However, the residuals were nice! After many years of searching for a 1972 Super Beetle in burnt orange with NO RUST, I finally found one a few years ago in Vista, CA, and snapped it up. VW introduced the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle at the New York Auto Show. This is the sportiest and most fuel efficient Beetle ever offered. The 2012 VW Beetle will offer three engines a 2.5L gasoline five cylinder, a 2.0L TDI clean diesel and a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine. Transmission choices include a 5-speed or 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed automatic, depending on the engine. The 2012 VW Beetle diesel gets a very impressive 40 mpg highway, 29 mpg city. VW even took the opportunity with the new Beetle to poke fun at themselves with the tag line "More power less flower" which is a reference to the original "new Beetle" which came with a flower vase mounted on the dash. Facebook: www.facebook.com Link to all my videos: www.youtube.com I made almond sour cream cake, just using my regular yellow cake recipe (seriouscakes.com by subbing in almond for vanilla and swapped out half of the milk and replaced it with sour cream. I know there's some pretty big bubbles running through the cake, I overmixed just a tad (argh, didn't whisk that last round!). I actually doubled the recipe and baked them in two 9x13 pans. When you're baking in larger pans you need a heating core so the cake will bake evenly instead of the sides being overdone while the middle is still mushy. I like to use 2 flower nails, turned upside-down and sprayed with baking spray. I'll put both in the pan and pour the cake batter around those. When the cake is done and I remove the cake from the pan, I can get those nails out without any problems. The yellow handled thingy is called a Cake Lifter from Wilton. I like to use it sometimes to practice new techniques on, and sometimes to lift cakes :) This was a cake for my sister-in-law whose father has a classic VW beetle. She sent me several pictures so I could have a good idea of what it looked like. This is the next-generation 2012 VW Beetle, which has now dropped the capitalized word 'New' from its name. The next Beetle model will be making its official debut soon at the Auto Shanghai show and then later at the New York auto show this week. The 2012 VW Beetle differs in styling from the previous generation with a flatter roof and more upright back end. The new Beetle is also wider than its predecessor by 3.3 inches (8.4 cm) and longer by 6 inches (15.2 cm). Engine options will include the 2.0 liter TFSI engine and the 2.0 liter TDI diesel in both European and North American spec variants. The North American Beetle still gets the 2.5 liter as an entry-level option with 170 bhp (127 kW / 172 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque.
