www.driver-coaching.com - Onboard the Mazda MX5 of Fahad Hizam competing in the 2010 Ma5da MX5 Championship at Castle Combe. The racing in the Ma5da series is very close with 42 cars on the grid and you can be assured of great racing action from grid to flag. This is Part 2 of Race 2. Fahad, who is from Saudi Arabia and has previousy raced in the Middle East V8 Supercar series and Formula Zip (Thunder Arabia) and Formula BMW.The purpose for Fahad in competing in the 2010 Championship is to gain experience of race craft and compare himself to other drivers in the most competitive Motorsport country in the world, the UK. Castle Combe is considered one of the most demanding circuits in the country and is probably the circuit with most crashes, or at least more noteworthy ones and Quarry corner is perhaps the most feared. Fahad is also CEO of Meezer Group who will shortly be opening a banch in the UK specialising in Tuning and Performance Parts. The video is captured on a 4-Cam Video4 setup from Race-Technology, supplied, fitted and operated by www.driver-coaching.com. I use this system extensively in my driver coaching where we are able to compare data & video down to minute detail to help the driver improve at a faster rate. Rather large coming together at Castle Combe, I'm not one for crash vids but this nicely shows the strength in these cars. I believe, but I'm willing to be corrected, the only long-term damage was the broken arm sustained at the end of the crash (an advert for arm restraints?). Japfest 2011 Car Show - Castle Combe Circuit
Performance Direct Insurance were amongst the many exhibitors supporting the Japfest 2011 Car Show at Castle Combe Circuit, Chippenham on May 14th 2011. The Performance Direct stand featured a brand spanking Nissan R35 GTR and a modified R34 for comparison. The cars were adorned by the two sexy Performance Direct Promo Girls Hannah Shine and Faye Evette. The girls created quite a stir amongst the show which was attended by hundreds of exhibitors and an estimated 16000 visitors - most of which it seemed had their photo taken with the girls! For track action there were drifting displays run by Maxxis Drift Championships with the likes of Japspeed, Driftworks, JDM Garage and Garage D all getting involved. Passenger rides were available with pro-drivers driving the BTCC 2004 Team Dynamics Honda Civics for a thrilling trip around the historic racing circuit. And many a Japfest go-er took their own cars round for a couple of laps. The mass of static displays increased once again this year with the finest Japanese Performance tuned cars from across the UK being displayed alongside many club displays showing some of the greatest original and modified examples of Japanese motoring. Jap Modified Performance Cars such as Subaru Impreza, Nissan's from the 200sx, 300zx, 350z right up to Skylines, R33, R34 & R35 GT-R. Alongside were Mazda RX-8's, MX5's, Honda Civic Type-R's, s2000's, Toyota Supra's and MR2's, GTO's, FTO's and of course, no Japanese tuning show would be complete without <b>...</b>

Castle Combe FF1600 Rounds 8 & 9 highlights
Highlights from Castle Combe FF1600 rounds 8 & 9. Qualifying on Saturday was a difficult time for everyone at Castle Combe with the sudden death of one of my team mates during the qualifying session. Our thoughts are with Pete O'Shea who will be greatly missed. As a mark of respect for Pete the qualifying was moved to Sunday. All the swift cooper cars paid their respects to Pete by carrying his name and a shamrock on their cars. Qualifying on the sunday did not go as planned as I was unable to put a fast lap in due to a Misfire. I qualified 11th for both rounds 8 & 9. The first race was quite uneventful in comparison to the second. I worked my way up to 9th and was unable to make further progress, despite being in the battle for 6th. I got a great start in the second race moving up to 7th and a safety car was brought out for an incident behind me. After the restart I moved my way up to 6th. A collision between Felix Fisher and Steven Jensen caused Fisher to spin and Jensen to take to the grass. Jensen's car suddenly took off and stood on it's nose, thankfully not rolling over, but still crashed back down on 4 wheels heavily. Thankfully Steven was ok after the incident. I was then overtaken under waved yellow flags, but let back past into 4th under the safety car. Only for the race to be red-flagged and I was put back to 5th. I then made the worst start of my career, only to make it even worse by changing up to 2nd gear. I managed to work my way back up to 7th, and was <b>...</b>

Highlights Of The 2011 Castle Combe Carnival
On board footage from Luke Cooper of the best bits from the end of season trophy race - The Castle Combe Carnival. I started in 5th position and made an alright start, but dropped to 7th, quickly retaking 6th on the exit of Quarry corner. I had a great battle with Oliver Bull (Black Swift SC92) and was able to take 5th place going into quarry. I managed to open up a gap while catching 4th placed driver Ed Moore (Yellow Ray GR11) Ed had a problem in the middle of bobbies but I had nowhere to go which held me up, he waved me through on the exit but Oliver Bull was back under my gearbox. I tried to defend, but he was able to tow past me going up avoon rise. We then went about aour earlier battle, only this time it allowed Jason Cooper (Blue/White Van Dieman RF89) to catch up and join in, managing to box me in behind a backmarker and pushing me back to 6th. I made a move later the same lap into tower, catching him a bit off guard, while missing the apex myself after braking to late. I was able to keep the position and moved back up to 5th, but our little battle had let Oliver get away. I managed to catch him back up on the last lap, but unable to make a move, pushing him over the line finishing iin 5th place.

Castle Combe FF1600 Round 6 Highlights
Highlights from qualifying and race for round 6 of the Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship. An electrical fault caused me to pull off. Only for it to sort itself out once I had stopped. I got back in the race and made steady progress back up the field working my way from last to 15th. However the engine began to overheat, causing me to pull over as soon as I reached the chequered flag. This video shows all the best bits from qualifying and the race in order.

It will certainly cover the same ground as many of the visitors but the difference this time is that it was shot after most of the tourists had gone home and that left just the locals, a couple of cyclists and us! Highlights from the 7th round of the Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship. I was running in 6th early in the race, until a problem with 3rd gear resulted in being overtaken, dropping to 9th and falling back. Dave Vivian had a massive accident in front of me, which brought out the red flag, thankfully Dave is alright.
